2012 Lotus Exige S

This car really caught my eye. It’s a beautifully designed machine from the looks of it. With a base price of $66,000, you know Lotus is serious about this being a performance based track car. The Exige has a 3.5 Liter supercharged V6 with a top speed of 170 mph. The Lotus Exige and the Elise have been known for great track cars, and just judging by its engine size and design, it still is. I absolutely love the look of the new rear end. The front side looks about the same as last years, (Usually confused with an Elise). Just the detail that went into the spoiler is something great to look at….

European VW Passat Sedan and Wagon R-Line

Europe gets all the cool stuff, such a shame. Volkswagen has just launched a new Passat and Wagon “R-Line” which is different than the regular “R” models. They’ve had a face-lift from the previous Passat models. New bright and expensive looking LED lights in the headlights, a larger air intake, sleek looking fog lights and a nice shiny chrome trim. They have sport suspension which lowers them a bit, and some sweet looking stock wheels.

I want one of each. They look brilliant, and fast. I adore LED headlights, reminds me of all those Audi’s with their mean looking front ends and high end LED’s. I wish America became a car industry again, because the biggest thing we have to look forward to right now are gas guzzling muscle cars that can’t turn and Priuses…so many Priuses…..

2013 SRT Viper

The Dodge Viper was my all time favorite American made car. It was fast, had lots of power, and still showed the American in it. It almost died, but now the venomous snake is back, and looking better than ever.

Except it’s not called the Dodge Viper, but the SRT Viper. No harm done though, because it looks absolutely gorgeous. American sports cars recently have been lacking enough design, and this brings great modern design features to a legendary American car. It looks like a Viper should.
It will apparently bite like a Viper should too. With a V10 Producing 640 HP, the estimated top speed is 206 mph. Thats mighty quick with a ton of power. Vipers have never had Stability Control, but for the first time, it does. The government now regulates it, but luckily you can still turn it off.

All in all, the car looks great, the specs look great, and its a Viper. What could possibly go wrong?

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon

A blazing fast, stylish, sports car….thats practical? That rarely happens, which is why the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon is a one of a kind. Of course, there are other Wagons out there that show those characteristics. A few of Cadillacs competition includes the Mercedes E63 AMG, Porsche Panamera, the Audi A4 Sportwagon, and the BMW 3 series. The CTS-V though, is different. It’s got a 556 HP V8, along with a 6 speed manual, and a TON of cargo space in the back. That means its extremely practical (of course it is, its a wagon) and is incredibly fun to drive. Thats a great combination. It’s got style too. I love the boxy exterior, oddly but interestingly shaped taillights and the great options for wheels.

In my opinion the best wagon on the market right now. Plenty of power, Nürburgring handling, a manual transmission, and just a really cool Euro wagon look to it. You’d never know it was American if you took the Caddy logo off it.

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

German Engineering with Italian design, such a beautiful combination. Two countries showing off what they’re best at. Two countries that are great in the car business.

The 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 is just over $200,000 but is worth every penny. It has a top speed of 201 mph and it gets there by a 6 speed manual, 5.2 Liter V10 which boasts 560 hp. Judging by the random videos of a Gallardo jetting down a racetrack or highway, the exhaust note sounds great.

As Jeremy Clarkson put it: “Let the Germans set up the picnic, but let the Italians make the food.”
Austin Hartenfels

The McLaren MP4-12C is McLaren’s latest creation, boasting a Twin Turbo 3.8 liter V8 with 592 hp. It roars from 0-62 in just 3.3 seconds. After being on the European market for about a year, now at the Geneva Auto Show, tuners have unveiled their versions of the British supercar.

What a beautiful car. Looks fast, but its a Koenigsegg, so of course its fast.

Gumpert Apollo

The 2011 Gumpert Apollo shocked many, with its stunning and risky looks to its Audi Twin Turbo V8 with 650hp. The German auto maker is originated from Audi and a little bit of Volkswagen, with many components of the car coming from the two successful car manufacturers. This car is what they call a “Race car for the street”. It is street legal, but barely. Its aerodynamic design makes it look like it belongs on the track, which it really does considering its performance output. It is a great track day car. The Apollo in my opinion is an extremely quick track machine. Just like the Zonda R, or the Lotus T125 which may be a bit more radical though. If you want a practical supercar you’d like to drive around daily, this definitely isn’t it, assuming its a huge gas guzzler, but if you live on racetrack, its perfect. I’ve heard its been called ugly and ridiculous, but I believe its beautiful, even with a silly name.

No design, No desire.
